WHAT TO EXPECT

  1. Research-I will help you research your child’s disability, including locating websites that offer tips, ideas, and information. Knowledge is power.

  2. Assistance and Support-I will help locate resources/information for your specific child’s needs as well as attend meetings and assist in developing of objectives, goals and communicating them both verbally and in writing.

  3. Suggestions and recommendations to best meet your child’s specific needs.

WHAT NOT TO EXPECT

  1. Overnight solutions-these processes take time.

  2. Judgment-I am not here to judge you, I am here simply to listen and help you to develop and work towards solutions for your child.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO PREPARE

  1. Organize-gather all educational material regarding your student.  This includes tests,  reports of any kind, homework, report cards, and any communication from the school.

  2. Find parent support groups/websites-finding parents who have gone through the same thing will provide more support and resources and I can also help with this.

  3. Be patient-this process can, and usually does, take time.
